Clematis recta 'Velvet Nights'

Unlike its relatives, this is a herbaceous perennial, forming an upright clump of grey-green leaves, which are a dark purple when young, up to 100cm tall. The slightly fragrant, white, star-shaped flowers stand out well against the foliage from June to August.

This plant likes a rich, well-drained soil in sun.
