Symphyotrichum novae-angliae 'Purple Dome'
A semi-double flowered, upright perennial which makes a dome-shaped mound to 60cm. From September to October, the semi-double, purple, daisy-type flowers with a yellow centre cover the plant. The flowers are loved by pollinators, but butterflies especially. Due to its late flowering time, it is a good late source of nectar, but also good to bring late colour into the garden. A disease resistant variety of Symphyotrichum, formally known as Aster.
This Michaelmas daisy likes a well-cultivated, fertile soil in sun.
